The EN 14399 suite of bolting standards was prepared on the basis of a mandate given to CEN by the European Commission under the EU Construction Products Directive (89/106/EC). The Construction Products Regulation (EU No. 305/2011) made it mandatory for manufacturers to issue a Declaration of Performance (DoP) and apply CE marking to their construction products covered by harmonised European Standards.
